Lunch time is quiet time

So just to start, it's been awhile since I last posted on my blog... so much for catching up with my fellow blogger: Hooray for Everything. Anyways, here's a quick update on what's goin' on in the life that is mine! Firstly, I've finished my courses and have graduated from school that I was going to. After that I went to the Disney World with my family and we enjoyed the warm weather, theme park rides and each others company ^_^. I could go on quite a bit about the trip but I'll save that stuff for a later blog.

Now that we've pretty much caught up with my life... which now that I look at it... not much has happened since my last post. Which may explain the lack of postage on my blog. Anyways... I am currently working in an office! Isn't that exciting! And to make things slightly better, there is a water cooler... though its off in some corner of the office that I don't actually go to that often. But hey, it's still a water cooler... maybe I'll go hang around the water cooler sometime during my time in this office.

Anyways, at lunch hours, I find that the office becomes incredibly quiet. I mean, even though it's not exactly loud any other time... it's just really quiet. I've found out why too. Apparently, because so many of these people actually make enough money, they go out for lunch almost everyday at lunch hour. However, for people like me, we stay in the office and eat our pre-packed lunches in our offices or cubicles. Just so you know, I have an office... but it's shared with someone else. I don't mind though, she's not a jerk... in fact she's really nice. To illustrate just how quiet it can be at lunch hour, if I listen carefully enough, I can actually hear other people typing in their offices, sometimes I can even hear the person in my office chewing on her food. And no, she doesn't chew exceptionally loudly. Also you can even hear peoples foot steps. I hope that illustrates the quietness of the office at lunch hour.

I've also tried going out for lunch at lunch hour. Three times actually. Twice with my dad and once with my boss and co-workers. The first time was with me co-workers and boss... we went to a fairly fancy restaurant and ate there. I didn't really notice much because apparently we had a reservation. 0_o I can say I was a little surprised by that. The second and third time was with my dad. The second time, we went and got some fast food from A&W, then wandered over to Prince's Island Park, I saw sooo many people running, walking, biking and rollerblading. Which made me wonder, don't the start to sweat and then smell bad when they get back to the office? My dad laughed and told me that they usually belong to the gyms that are in the area, so they just use those showers and then, grab something to eat and go back to the office. I was pretty impressed that they got a good exercise session, shower and lunch in one hour. I know I probably wouldn't be able to do that. So that day I ate lunch and was slightly disturbed by a bee that was flying around my face. That was a bit unpleasant because I dislike getting stung.

The third time, we went to a food court and ate at a Korean BBQ place. It was pretty good. But I must say, there were alot of people there. Which then prompted me to think: "Does anyone eat lunch in the office?" Apparently there are, but very few. Which thus explains why it's so quiet in the office around lunch hour! ^_^

Oh one notable thing that happened before this post. I went over to a friends house and when he called, he was like "So yeah these people are coming and this person is going to be bringing cake." Oh just so you know, I won't be using their names. Anyways, so I was like "CAKE!? Sweet I'll be there!" And eventually we all go there except for two people. So the rest of us played cards for awhile. Then we asked about when the other two were supposed to get there. My friend told me that the one bringing the cake had told him that she would come but would have to leave around 10:00pm. So we were like, well it's going to be awhile 'till then so we'll keep playing cards until then. So now it's 10:05pm and we hear the phone ring. We answer and guess who it is! The person to bring the cake! So this person says that, yeah they'll be staying right where they are for tonight... at 10:05pm... 5 minutes after the person was going to leave. So,

a) We didn't get to hang out with the two people that night which is pretty disappointing.
b) We got a little annoyed by the fact that the person called at 10:05pm!!!
and finally,
c) WE FRIGGIN' DIDN'T GET ANY FRIGGIN' CAKE!!! I'd say that annoyed me the most!
