81 years old

So I was watching the news today and saw a most intriguing story. The story was about people upgrading their grade 12 marks in order to get into university or some sort of post secondary education. However, as you may have already guessed by the title of my post, there was an 81 year old lady that was taking the course to upgrade math 30.

The fact that the lady is 81 years old may be wrong because I might have heard them wrong or something. But I'm fairly confident in saying that she was 81 years old. Anyways, the reason that the lady was taking the course is interesting... well at least I thought it was. She's taking the course, because she considers it like walking, but for your brain. She was saying that you exercise by running and things like that to keep your body healthy, why not do something for your brain as well. So she's doing Math 30.

Oh but here's the best part!!! At the end of the story, they were talking about how she's really good at math and that all the students like to be grouped up with her for solving problems and such. Apparently she's so good she was given the same question as a student and finished it without a calculator, before he could with one!!! He was still punching in the numbers when she finished with just a pencil and paper! That was awesome!

I should get some practice...

So... as some of you people may know, I currently own a guitar. You may also know that I am learning to play said guitar. However, I have a problem. I don't practice. Well that's a lie, I do practice... however, the amount of time that I practice is slowly getting smaller. I don't practice as much anymore. It's not because I'm good enough that I don't feel the need to practice... I just haven't been practicing.

So I've come to this conclusion! I am going to practice more! I will dedicate a specific time to practice for a set amount of time. Though I do realize that this makes it sound like I dislike playing the guitar. That would be wrong. I enjoy playing the guitar, I just don't seem to schedule any time for it. So I'm going to start doing that.

Please, if you know any songs that you feel would be fun to learn or any songs you think I should try to learn, please just either post a comment on any of my posts, please let it be one of the recent ones. I don't want to have to search all of my posts to find a song that I should learn how to play. Or just send me an email!

Politicians

So I was watching the news today and heard something rather disturbing. Apparently, the local politicians for the city spend something like $20,000 for a party. Also I heard that their terms are just starting. I wonder if this kind of thing is going to be more frequent this year with the local politicians. I hope not. But on another note, that must've been quite the party.

OS

Who can tell me what that stands for?
I already know but I figure that this might get people to post comments. Anyways, I bring the topic of OS up because of something I will be doing in the near future.

I will be learning about Linux. Yay!

If you don't know what Linux is and would like to learn a little bit about it. Well you have a few options really.

1. Look it up with Google or use Wikipedia.

2. You can wait and I will try to post everything I learn about it while I'm trying to either setup a computer with Linux or set it up on another hard drive.

The first would probably faster and more accurate though ;)

Johnny needs help with math

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHvDTTPW4z8

You should watch this video! It's not only cute but it's hilarious. My sister showed it to me after we got a call from our cousin asking for help with his math. Unfortunately I couldn't help... He needed to show four different ways to subtract a negative number from a positive number.

Example: 10 - (-6)=?

Of course I know the answer to that but he needed four ways of showing how it worked. I could only think of three... and he already had those... T-T

No end of trouble

So lately I've been trying to get a post out close to everyday. However, this weekend, was bothersome. We've subscribed to a new internet provider a while back. We were with the company for our phone, internet and digital cable that we got sometime in the summer I believe. Anyways, eventually we found that there was a much better plan to be had with a different company. So we switched. In hindsight we shouldn't have switched but I guess that doesn't matter anymore since it's already been done.

Moving on...

So after we switched, we ran into a problem with our digital cable. Apparently, we're not allowed to switch to any other subscriber. So until recently we've been without television, which is fine. I didn't have that much of a problem with that. But then our internet started going down. So in other words every once and awhile we'd be without our internet connection. This bothered me... not to mention the irritating calls to customer service we've had to make. And even then we didn't get much help from them. For instance, this weekend, we called and they tried to fix the television problem. But in order to do that they had to take down our internet. Oh and by the way, this was around noon. Luckily enough, we were putting up our Christmas tree and various other decorations at this time. But anyways, they took down our internet, then tried to fix the TV. Well... they failed. Not only that, but then when we called at 6:00 which they said "We'll still be in at 6:00pm" we asked if they fixed it and whether or not we'd have our internet down for the entire weekend. They promptly said: "Well the department that would fix your internet connection won't be in until Monday." So thus we were left without our internet for the weekend. But I guess that wasn't too bad. But man, for the slightly cheaper rates that we supposedly are getting... it's been a lot of trouble... Or at least that's what I think.

This time of year

As you may already know, it is December! Meaning everyone is rushing around to get ready for a certain holiday. Personally it is my favorite time of the year as well as my favorite holiday of them all. Christmas!!!

I am very much aware of the things that are happening around the world and the fact that some people don't celebrate Christmas and I also know that some people can't because of extenuating circumstances. But still I love this holiday. I hope I don't sound evil by saying that.

Anyways, so I went shopping today and tried to get presents for people, as well as see if I could find anything that someone I know would like. However, while looking I found some things that I figured I would really like to get for my friends as Christmas presents. However, it was then that my sister brought up a very good point. From previous years, I didn't get anything for my friends, nor did they get anything for me. So thus meaning we were even... I guess. Therefore, if I did go ahead and get them gifts, my sister told me, I would be putting pressure on them to get something for me. This left me in quite the bind. Because I really wanted to get them gifts, but didn't want to pressure them or anything. I have no idea what I should do about this one... any advice?

Cloned Pigs

So I don't know how many of you get the newspaper, so you may or may not have seen this article. So I'll give you a general idea. Simply put, it's exactly what it is in the title of this post. We've cloned a pig. So now we have male piglets. But this is the thing, I was reading the newspaper, not going to tell you which one, but I want to make sure I don't get into any kind of trouble. So the newspaper that I'm talking about gets full credit. If you really need to know which newspaper, just send me a message and I'll send you an email or something to let you know which newspaper it was. I don't really think I'll get in trouble, but hey, better safe than sorry right?

So getting back on track... while I was reading this newspaper I noticed something. The article had a specific paragraph that made ponder.

"Seventeen cloned male piglets were born in three litters over the past six weeks. Seven were killed so autopsies could be conducted to rule out health problems. None were detected."

So seven of the seventeen cloned piggies were killed, and then autopsied to make sure they didn't die due to health problems... I figure that they meant that the pigs were killed and and then they autopsied them to see if any there were any problems with the pigs. But still... the way they put it "Seven were killed so autopsies could be conducted to rule out health problems." When I first read that, I thought, wait they killed them... then autopsied them... and found that they didn't die due to health problems... isn't that a bit obvious? That's like shooting someone in the head, then having them autopsied and saying: "Well it would appear that his death was caused by health problems", well unless you consider a bullet in your head a health problem. Obviously this wasn't what they meant but still let me make fun of them anyways!

On another note, I figure that I can use the newspaper to give me ideas for posts! But I guess that means I don't really have an excuse for not posting anymore...

Rather large gaps

So I've been looking at my posting history for my blog and noticed that I have large gaps in between blog posts. Some months I'll post up to 8 times whereas some months I'll post maybe once. I don't really know what I'm going to do about it. I find it's rather difficult to think up a topic to talk about. Not to mention trying to figure out something to put as the title for the post. I mean, preferably it would be at least a little clever. Just so you know, no, I don't think that the titles of my posts are all that clever. But still, it's the best I could think of at the moment.

So with that in mind, I hope to be able to post at least once every week. No matter what! Also, comments on the blog are much appreciated! It makes me feel like people are actually reading my blog! Which is really awesome!

Hunting

That's right! I'm hunting! But what I'm doing is slightly different from your typical hunting. Instead of using guns, I'm using resumes!

Alright, now that I'm done with the lame joke. I guess I'll get to the point. Job hunting is difficult. It may not be so hard for other people. But it's very hard for me. I find I'm stressing out about where to apply and whether or not they'll hire me or not. My parents tell me, no point in worrying, which is very true... but obviously something I can't do. It's terrible... depending on where I apply it's a slightly different type of worrying. Like for the jobs that you go in and hand in your resume and sometimes fill out an application form, so many thoughts that cause me to worry start rushing into my head. I'll be standing there with a meek smile on my face and asking for the job, and suddenly I'll thinking...

"Am I standing up straight? OH CRAP I'm slouching aren't I!!! OMG It's over!!!"
"I'm being to quite aren't I? Oh CRAP they'll never hire me if I'm too quiet!!!"
"SAY SOMETHING SMART!!!.... SMRT???"
"Try saying something other than, I'd like to apply for the job!"
"So how about that local sports team... wait that has nothing to do with this ARGH they'll never hire me if I'm so absent minded!"

It's awful. And when people tell me, don't worry about, you'll be fine, only makes things worse. I find I'll start thinking:

"Am I worrying too much? Do I look like I'm worrying? Oh crap I look scared don't I... what do I do!!! SMILE!!! SMILE!!!" *smiles awkwardly* *person looks at me funny* "...damn..."

I've been told that it'll get better eventually... but I'd really like to get over sooner than later, because I'd like to get a job relatively soon.

New things!

It's always nice to get new things! Just to make sure I'm not misunderstood, I'm not saying that old things are bad, I'll talk about the greatness that is old things later. Moving on! New things are always so nice! Just the way they look! Depending on what the item is! For example, a new car! When you get a new car, it's usually very clean both on the inside and the outside. When you see it or are driving in it you feel great! The new car smell, though some people dislike it, is something that I enjoy, it makes me happy!

Also usually new things are meant to replace the old things that are broken or no longer usable no matter what you do to try and fix it. For example... clothes! Let's say you have this pair of jeans that you've owned for awhile, but because of the amount of wear they see, they've got holes everywhere, the zipper won't zip, and the button is missing somewhere in Toronto! Usually in this case, you'd get a new pair of jeans! New things feel somewhat, fresh, though I'm sure there are plenty of ways to describe the feeling, I'm rather tired and cannot think properly. The only thing keeping me up is sugar... but alas, I'm running out of sugar!

:)

Ranting Moment

So lately I've noticed something. To me at least, this realization is very depressing. I don't get to really see my sisters anymore! For one of them it's a little bit understandable since she doesn't live the family anymore. She's got her own house. And a very nice one indeed. But the other... well from what I can tell, she wakes up, eats breakfast, goes to work, goes to sisters home, comes home and sleeps.

At first I didn't really mind that much but now it's gotten to the point where she may as well not even live in the same house as the rest of the family. It actually is getting a little on my nerves. Why? I don't know, I just find myself getting irritated at this. Not to mention, lately, every time we get plans to visit with more family, they seem to have plans. Or if the older one doesn't go the younger will not either. However, it's interesting. One time, the younger though the older wasn't going so she told our parents she would not be coming to visit family. Then when I mentioned that the older was going, she decided that she would go. Oh I forgot to mention, the reason she was not coming was because she had work to do. In the end she brought the work with her to visit.

I get the impression that the younger must hate spending time with anyone but the older sister. So what does that make the rest of us? Extras? Or what, we're just here for her convenience? Beh, I'm getting angry just typing this. Well not angry just irritated...

Funny thing that happened I

So the other day, it was lunch time and we were eating leftovers for lunch. While heating things up, I was standing in the kitchen with my mom. She started getting my dad's food ready when she started adding water. Mind you this was a type of soup-ish gruel type of food. I'm not too sure what it's actually called. I've heard it be called joke (pronounced similarly to that) and kanjee. It's essentially a soup where you use rice with water. It makes it thick-ish. Anyways, when I saw her adding water I asked a question and the results were this conversation:

Me: "Water?"
Mom: "I don't like it thick."
Me: "...But... isn't that dad's?"
Mom: (Smiling) "I don't like it think."
Me: (Kinda grinning) "Um... ok."

Shortly after this conversation, my dad in the other room and had heard this conversation, started laughing and told me:

Dad: "See what I have to put up with!"

We all started laughing... good times :)

Feeling Accomplished

Does that even make sense?

Well anyways, so the other day. I decided to write a really long post because of the lack of activity on my blog. Then when I finished I don't know what happened... I went to click on "Publish Post" but then when I touched my mouse, the cursor went darting to the corner with the "X" icon to close the window. In which it told me if I close I will lose everything I just worked on. That's when I panicked and hit enter for some reason. I used my left hand to try to do something I don't know what... but I hit the enter key on the right side of the keyboard. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
I was devastated and now I don't want to rewrite any of it. So I'll complain about it instead. :)

Not long now was it?

Alright, so now everyone is completely gone. To clear things up a little, by everyone I mean my friends, and by "gone" I mean... well yeah, they're gone. They've all moved into residence at their respective schools. Currently, I am working hard to get my marks high enough so that a school will even consider letting me in.

To be perfectly honest, it's a little bit lonely around here. With everyone gone, I have no one to really talk to. I should get a job so that I have something to do during the day. At the moment, my schedule is very empty. I do my upgrading work in the morning, then in the afternoons... well I don't really do anything. I feel so lazy... I try to help out around the house... but there's only so much I can do. The evenings aren't much better though. I eat dinner, occasionally I might help with dinner or try to learn a thing or to so that I can say that I know how to cook. However, my evenings are fairly similar to my afternoons. I do very little. It's kinda got me down... but once I get a job or something, who knows, maybe things will be better.

Last Days...

Summer is coming to an end...
Which means three things:

1. My contract with the company I'm working with is going to end by the end of the week. So I need to find a new job.
2. Everyone is returning to their respective schools out of town.
3. I have to get my upgrading done soon so I can possibly join said friends in University.

The Summer was awesome though I didn't really get to hang out with my friends as much as I would've liked. Understandably, everyone needed to work so they could have money to spend during the school semester. I'm going to miss work though... even though I did complain, I really did enjoy my time at work. I also enjoyed having spending money, that was nice, I won't lie.

To finish this post, I'd like to wish everyone the best of luck. More specifically, to my friends and their studies in University, my sister who will be starting her new career after finishing her University courses and my other sister who is living on her own and well, working too. Best of luck everyone!

Refurnishing

Ok so I may have spelt the title of today's post incorrectly but... I'm not exactly in a position to get a dictionary and look it up. Then again... I could also just type it here and then use spell check. Meh, I let it be wrong so that in future should I wish to use this as a topic title, I'll be able to use the proper spelling.

Ok so, yesterday evening I was discussing with my mom that I need to get new shelves and such for my room, as the small storage shelves for children, are getting... too small. I have more and more stuff piling on the floor in my room and, my mom being very picky about things being organized and clean, HATES it. So now, I'm going to get new shelves for my room, do some reorganizing of the room and even get a new desk, which will include more storage space, for my room. We looked through the IKEA catalogue for 2008 and I've picked out my new desk and a lamp to put on it!

Unfortunately, I've been told that these will be counted as my birthday presents from my parents... I know I should be grateful for getting anything at all... but still... a desk and a lamp... Happy Birthday?

Last Week T.T

Well, for the past few months I've been working in the office of a fairly small Oil and Gas Company. But now that summer is almost over, my contract will be ending soon. This means I have to find another job.

I must say though, I will miss this place. I really enjoyed working with these people and wish them the best. *Sigh* This also means that summer is almost over... back to school for my friends and I have... well work that needs to be done.

Can't wait 'till the summer of 2008!

Public Transit

Because of the fact that I don't have my drivers licence and don't have enough money to buy a car even if I had said licence, means that I have to use public transit to get from point A to point B. Well in my case it would be more like catch the bus to get from point A to Point B, then catch the train to get from point B to point C and then walk from point C to point D. Anyways, that's not what I wanted to talk about. What I wanted to talk about was things to do while on the bus/train.

One thing that I always do, is listen to my mp3, unless the batteries are dead. Then I am sad and don't listen to it. The other 3 things I can do are either, sleep, watch the scenerie through the window or watch the people on the train/bus. It's pretty interesting, especially the people that are falling asleep.

You watch them and you see their eyes are closed, and suddenly they start leaning in one direction, open their eyes and suddenly sit back up. The eyes slowly close and they start leaning again. I'm equally guilty of doing this, in fact, multiple times, I've found myself almost falling out of my seat... or just falling to the ground when I'm standing... apparently I can fall asleep standing... until I realize that I'm falling over then I wake up.

Also it's interesting too see the people that have a sleeping person leaning on them. I think it's funny. I am certain I don't do this. But it's interesting watching their expression change from a neutral one to an annoyed one when the person starts leaning on them. I've had people lean on me... in the odd case, it's not awful... because either you know the person well or the person is one that you deem to be very attractive... thus you don't mind. However, it's not very nice when it's someone you don't know or find particularily attractive and said person smells bad. Then you feel like jumping out the window or standing up just to get away. Well that's all for now about public transportation. Maybe more later...

The Snack for Studying!

Alright so for this post, I would really like for people to leave comments. The reason being that I would like your opinion on this as well.

Alright, as the title was intended to imply, I will be talking about snacks to eat while studying. And I would also like your opinion on which snack you think is likely the best to have when studying.

For me it would have to be Pocky! If you don't know what Pocky is, it is a cookie like stick dipped in some sort of cream. My personal favorite though very common, would be the Pocky that are dipped in chocolate. The reason I think this is a great snack while you study is there is no mess at all. Eating cookies makes crumbs and it makes a mess... eating chocolate is nice, but if you're like me, chocolate has a tendancy to melt in your hands, and quickly at that... so now you have melted chocolate on your hands. Now you have to clean your hands before you can start studying again. With Pocky, those to problems are gone! I don't know why, but crumbs don't seem to really be a problem with Pocky. Also the chocolate won't melt in your hands because there is a portion of the stick that isn't coated in chocolate. Also, they're just so convenient! You don't even need your hands to eat them, though a little tougher.

So what is your favorite snack to have when you study and why?

Radio Waves: The Battle of the Sexes

So if you remember, I said I was going to complain more about the radio in my last post. If you don't remember take a quick look at the post before this one... it's ok this post isn't going anywhere...
...
...
...
So I assume that was enough time for you to make that quick check. Anyways, moving on, I noticed something on the radio. And it was kinda bothering me. On VIBE 98.5 they have this little contest called "Battle of the Sexes". When I first heard it, I thought "I'm pretty sure I've heard this before. I was right! Every morning (not weekends) my parents will listen to Lite 96 another radio station. But they used to have a similar contest called "Battle of the Sexes" The two aren't very different but I'm pretty sure Lite 96 has been around alot longer than VIBE. But here are some things about them.

VIBE: -The intro to it is "Battle of the Sexes!" in a way that is slightly musical. The tune is similar to that "We will, we will rock you!"
-The contest usually involves the contestants simply listing something in ten seconds. An example being: list as many brands of beer in 10 seconds.

Lite 96: -The intro sounds more like one of those contest tv shows. It's still "Battle of the Sexes!" Kinda like the price is right but it doesn't really incorporate any tune. It just sounds like an audience saying it.
-They ask multiple choice questions in this one. Men get questions like, which percent of women say they [insert something women do] and vice versa for women. They get questions like, what percent of men, cheer while watching sports or something along those lines.

Either way, the way I see it, VIBE stole the idea from Lite 96! Either that or got permission from them to use the idea. Which leads me to say, VIBE SUCKS!!! But then again, that might be because I've been forced to listen to them all summer... ugh...

On another note, I think I'll start posting things that are not me complaining about something.

Radio Waves

During my time working in an office, I find that it's very nice to have something to listen to, other than your own thoughts of what tasks need to be done or the sound of you typing. So it's very pleasant to have a radio in your office. However, there is a downside to this. Eventually, you will get sick of the music a station plays. Actually, only some stations will do this. But it seems like they only play songs from a very small playlist of about 10-20 songs. You might think, well what's the problem that's plenty of variety isn't it? Well it isn't... not even close. Especially if it takes about 1 or 2 hours including adds to get through the songs and you listen to the station for about 8 hours. So if we go with 2 hours to hear them all, you'll hear the same song about 4 times in one day.

Now, you think about how many days you work. 5 days a week usually so that's 5 days of listening to the same songs over and over. So in one business week you've listened to the same songs 20 times. Now you think, you've been working for a few months now. And then if you're working and listening to the same radio station for years. Holy crap! You've been listening to the same songs for a very long time.

I don't know about any of you people that may be reading this, but I can't stand listening to the same song over and over again. Even if I really like the song, I will get sick of it if I hear it so many times. I have some more complaints about the radio but I'm going to save that for another post... maybe if I post tomorrow I'll talk about it.

Sleeply Dreaming Jon

So lately I've been reading a book called Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay. Though I may be a little wrong with the author ^_^

Anyways, so far, I have really enjoyed the book. It's somewhat dark, but that is to be expected when the main character is a serial killer. It's written in a first person type of style, so it's narrated by the main character, Dexter. I'm finding it to be pretty funny at some points. I'd recommend it, it's a good book.

Unfortunately, I haven't been reading it as much as I would like for some reason. Also, when I do end up reading it, I start after 11:00pm so that prooves to be a rather troublesome problem. With work the next morning and all. So I read get interested and then realize "CRAP! I have to go to work tomorrow morning..." So I go to sleep and the next morning... suprise... I'm tired. So I really need to do something about this little problem of mine.

Dinner with family!

Ok, so it's been awhile since I last posted, but I'm pretty sure everyone that actually reads this is aware that I currently am employed and earning some money. What you probably didn't know, is that I promised my parental units, and sisters dinner out. Which would be my treat! But the thing is, is that I promised that it would be with my first paycheck... unfortunately, my first paycheck was pitiful at best... especially with taxes. It's not that I don't get payed much at work, it's just the fact that I get paid twice a month, that being said, I started 2 days before the pay date. So essentially, I got payed for just 2 days of work... which wasn't enough for dinner at the restaurant that I had in mind.

Anyways, I was finally able to make good on my promise yesterday. I invited my sister and her companion, my parents and my other sister. The meal itself was delicious, conversation was enjoyable and we had some laughs, though some of them at the expense of other family members. I was made fun of at one point, my sisters decided that they would legally change my name to Miss Petunia Clairston. Or something along those lines... All in all it was an excellent evening.

Finally, we got the bill, which the waiter gave the bill to my dad. To which I had bet that they would give to him in the first place, since he appears to be the one that would most likely be the one paying. But that's beside the point. When I got the bill, oh man, it was a lot more than I was expecting. Well I was kinda half expecting that (don't ask what "kinda half expecting" is, I wouldn't be able to tell you) but still...

Still it was an awesome time!

Hatred: Crocs

Ok so just a little info about me first. I have a pair of crocs, I enjoy wearing them. I however, don't wear them out in public much. To me, they are a nice pair of shoes that I wear when I don't have socks on, and I want to go outside. It's quite convenient to be honest. They're very comfortable too.

But for some reason soooooo many people keep saying things like "I don't care if they're comfortable, you look like an idiot!". What I find most irritating about this statement is the fact that soooo many people try to dress in odd colors with weird hairstyles to be "original", yet the second they see you wearing whatever color of crocs, they judge you on your shoes... WTF!? The way I see it, wearing crocs is very similar to changing your hair color to something like, some sort of ugly color that I can't think of at the moment... maybe a really bright green. Anyways, when people see others with green hair some think, "Man, that guy/girl is so original" or something along the lines of a compliment. The only reason that I can think of for someone to change their hair color to something like that, is because they like the way it looks... who knows, maybe it makes them feel good. Which is the exact same thing with crocs.

I've looked on the internet and found discussions with titles like: "People that wear Crocs should have their feet cut off"... again... WTF?! No one in their right mind would say "anyone that dyes their hair color to some wild color deserves to be scalped" And I'm fairly certain that no one thinks that way either.

To be perfectly honest, I respect anyone that is comfortable enough with themselves to wear crocs. Especially since they're so damn comfortable. If someone walked up to me and called me an idiot for wearing crocs in public, the first thing I would do is nothing. I don't really care to be honest... "someone I don't know doesn't like my shoes!? OMG it's the end of... err... nothing. I guess I'll just have to find a way to deal with it... oh... look at that, I'm already over it."

To all the people that hate crocs and have a need to express that hatred:

We like crocs... deal with it!

To people that wear crocs because they're comfortable:

Good for you! Kudos on not letting those people get you down! But you don't need to show off your crocs...

Also, on another note, I'm pretty sure crocs are cheaper than sandals too. So it's cheap and comfortable. Although, they could look a little nicer...

Hm... I'd say I take a neutral stance on this Croc issue. I don't think they deserve to be destroyed or banned, but I do think there is a time and place for them as well. I'm pretty sure they were not meant to impress anyone... just meant to be comfortable.

I'm such a liar!

So remember in June when I said that I would try to post more often? Yeah, that hasn't been going too well. In fact, I had completely forgotten that I said I was going to do that. Anyways, once again I am on a break at work... and posting yet again. I really shouldn't be posting at a time like this. And I tell myself over and over again, you will work diligently all day! Yeah, I don't. It's awful.

Long time no post!

For all of the people that actually read this little blog of mine, I apologize for not posting as of late. Most of the time, I find myself at work in which I don't really feel like I can blog. Which is very true, one should avoid blogging while at work. Though saying this makes me somewhat a hypocrite, because I'm actually doing this at work! ^-^

But hey, I'm on a break so I feel I'm allowed to do this. Though I only have a few minutes more in which I can do this.

Alright so some news, first I would like to announce the results of the Tennis Tournament that I held last weekend! Also I won't be using last names... only first names and nicknames.

1st: Jonno
2nd: ME!
3rd: Tie between Evan and Justin!

I'd like to thank everyone that came to the tournament and let everyone know that there will be another in the month of July. Most likely...

So, since I'm at work, I won't be able to post one of those little foxes that are to be used to display my mood. So I guess I'll just have to skip that this time. I will however, will be blogging a little more often again. Seeing as how I don't really have much to do when I get home.

I had wings...

So the other day I went out to this bar-ish like place called Richmonds. I had actually been planning this since well... Friday last week but because this was a new place, I didn't really know much about it. Anyways, I did my best to plan it out, inviting people, trying to confirm so that I don't end up getting a table for 12 and have 4 people actually show up.

On the day of this plan to go to this place called Richmonds, I had gotten a ride with my parents and we gave one of my friends a ride as well. However, it was raining pretty good after we got in. But there were none of the expected people there. It made me a little nervous because it was just the two of us there... I was expecting 12 including me and him. After awhile, more people came... though it was half an hour after we got there. But I didn't mind seeing as how it was raining pretty hard outside after we got in. Lucky for me I guess!

Now you get to see why we were there! 9 cent wings!!! It was wing night at Richmonds! It was delicious, I really enjoyed the wings and the company. Though the one thing I wasn't too fond about was that for every order of wings you got you'd have to order one drink. It couldn't be water though. But it's ok, we still go plenty of wings and I found out later in the night that you can get either a double or a triple order of wings. Each one normally comes with a dozen wings. Triple that or double that and you have lots of wings. Next time I go, I'll know better.

So there were plenty of types of wings... by types I mean like, honey garlic, salt & pepper, teriyaki, etc. I wanted to try teriyaki but never got the chance... actually, I did order some but got salt & pepper instead. Which was still very delicious but that was the first kind I ordered. I guess I'll have to go back for the teriyaki wings. Some other ones I didn't get to try were BBQ, and "FREAKIN' HOT!".

Later on during the night, we decided to go play some of the slot machine like things. We did, I put in about $1.25 and didn't win anything. My other friends some mananged to make some money. One put in $0.25 and won $0.25 so he got his money back. Another thing that started that night was a game of name that tune. Which was awesome fun. Though I didn't really participate because I was going to leave shortly, it was fun watching.

Well this post was long so I'll end it here with a few things. First, I'd like to say that the little foxes that you've seen in this post were from another blogger named capfox. I found his blog through hoorayforeverything. Secondly, I'd like to thank my friend Katrina for telling me about the place!

Also I've decided to somewhat copy capfox in putting a little fox to describe the mood I'm in or what I'm doing at the end of each post!

Mood: Tired...

Being tired is tiring

Ok so lately I haven't been a very responsible person. Why you might ask? Well because of the fact that I'm working now, I have to wake up at about 6:00am every morning so that I can get ready and leave for work. But the problem is that I haven't exactly been going to bed at a good time. Usually I find myself going to sleep around 11:45pm. Which in the end gives me about... 6 hours and 15 minutes of sleep. I am very aware of the fact that some people go with that kind of sleep or less and don't have any problems. To you people that say that, I say, well that's you, not me.

That's not the only problem though. Now because I'm not getting quite enough sleep, I find I'm getting really tired at work. Which will obviously effect my efficiency negatively. But the thing is, I say to myself "Alright, tonight I go to bed early" but then I either get a call from a friend saying that we should play tennis at 8:00pm. Which isn't a problem, but then we end up staying out until 10:30pm or 11:00pm. After that I have to shower. which then takes up time. When I get back at 10:30pm I seem to say to myself, "meh it's only 10:30, I can shower a bit later, besides I want to (insert activity) first then I'll go shower and get ready for bed.", so in the end I always end up in bed at 11:30pm.

Plus when I'm tired, I tend to forget stuff. Like in my previous post, I complain about losing my guitar stuff. Well I found a pic and tuner, but I can't find any of the other stuff. Still looking though. I guess I'll have to go and buy some stuff.

On a more positive note, I got payed yesterday! Woot! ^o^

Guitar zero

So I'm in a rather depressed state of mind at the moment. I've been told that I should start playing guitar again. However, there is a huge problem. I can't find any of my stuff to play! I guess some of it I don't need. I can play without a pick. But then again, I seem to have misplaced my tuner, capo and about 4 out of 4 picks. So I have my guitar... that's about it.

In addition, my lack of practice has left my fingers wimpy. Normally when you play guitar for awhile, your fingers get tougher and playing doesn't really hurt anymore. But not for me. It hurts like hell if I play too long. So now I'm currently searching my home for my guitar stuff... it has been rather unsuccessful.

I really hope I don't have to go and buy the stuff again.

Mood = T-T < Wah! Can't find my stuff!

Angry Nerd

So I saw these pretty funny videos the other day! They're about this guy who pretty much just plays really old and really bad nintendo games. All of them for the old nintendo. Anyways, he plays them and then points out all of the flaws in the game. Though he does swear and the content isn't really meant for younger children. I think its hilarious.

Just search up "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" on YouTube or video.google.com and then select "Angry Nintendo Nerd" or something relating to that. It's funny, especially if you've played the game.

Seriously, they're pretty funny. He also did reviews on games like back to the future and top gun. Both reviews are hilarious.

The M is for Motivation

I'm finding that I am seriously lacking motivation on Fridays. I don't really know why though. Oh just to let you know, I'm talking about while I'm at work. ^-^ Some would think that I should probably just deal with it and keep working. I can do that... but crap! It's really hard!

Another thing I find is hard to do without proper motivation, wake up in the morning. I find this to be extremely difficult. And no, it's not just because I'm tired. I wake up and just try so hard to move so I can start getting ready. But my body just doesn't move. I don't know why though.

On a lighter note, I think I'm going to see a movie today! I'm not sure when... or where... or which movie... But I get to go see a movie none the less... I think. Really I'm just waiting on a call from one of my friends. But I hope I get it soon because I don't want this to be too last minute like. I will probably give him a call to find out the details of this movie event!

Lunch time is quiet time

So just to start, it's been awhile since I last posted on my blog... so much for catching up with my fellow blogger: Hooray for Everything. Anyways, here's a quick update on what's goin' on in the life that is mine! Firstly, I've finished my courses and have graduated from school that I was going to. After that I went to the Disney World with my family and we enjoyed the warm weather, theme park rides and each others company ^_^. I could go on quite a bit about the trip but I'll save that stuff for a later blog.

Now that we've pretty much caught up with my life... which now that I look at it... not much has happened since my last post. Which may explain the lack of postage on my blog. Anyways... I am currently working in an office! Isn't that exciting! And to make things slightly better, there is a water cooler... though its off in some corner of the office that I don't actually go to that often. But hey, it's still a water cooler... maybe I'll go hang around the water cooler sometime during my time in this office.

Anyways, at lunch hours, I find that the office becomes incredibly quiet. I mean, even though it's not exactly loud any other time... it's just really quiet. I've found out why too. Apparently, because so many of these people actually make enough money, they go out for lunch almost everyday at lunch hour. However, for people like me, we stay in the office and eat our pre-packed lunches in our offices or cubicles. Just so you know, I have an office... but it's shared with someone else. I don't mind though, she's not a jerk... in fact she's really nice. To illustrate just how quiet it can be at lunch hour, if I listen carefully enough, I can actually hear other people typing in their offices, sometimes I can even hear the person in my office chewing on her food. And no, she doesn't chew exceptionally loudly. Also you can even hear peoples foot steps. I hope that illustrates the quietness of the office at lunch hour.

I've also tried going out for lunch at lunch hour. Three times actually. Twice with my dad and once with my boss and co-workers. The first time was with me co-workers and boss... we went to a fairly fancy restaurant and ate there. I didn't really notice much because apparently we had a reservation. 0_o I can say I was a little surprised by that. The second and third time was with my dad. The second time, we went and got some fast food from A&W, then wandered over to Prince's Island Park, I saw sooo many people running, walking, biking and rollerblading. Which made me wonder, don't the start to sweat and then smell bad when they get back to the office? My dad laughed and told me that they usually belong to the gyms that are in the area, so they just use those showers and then, grab something to eat and go back to the office. I was pretty impressed that they got a good exercise session, shower and lunch in one hour. I know I probably wouldn't be able to do that. So that day I ate lunch and was slightly disturbed by a bee that was flying around my face. That was a bit unpleasant because I dislike getting stung.

The third time, we went to a food court and ate at a Korean BBQ place. It was pretty good. But I must say, there were alot of people there. Which then prompted me to think: "Does anyone eat lunch in the office?" Apparently there are, but very few. Which thus explains why it's so quiet in the office around lunch hour! ^_^

Oh one notable thing that happened before this post. I went over to a friends house and when he called, he was like "So yeah these people are coming and this person is going to be bringing cake." Oh just so you know, I won't be using their names. Anyways, so I was like "CAKE!? Sweet I'll be there!" And eventually we all go there except for two people. So the rest of us played cards for awhile. Then we asked about when the other two were supposed to get there. My friend told me that the one bringing the cake had told him that she would come but would have to leave around 10:00pm. So we were like, well it's going to be awhile 'till then so we'll keep playing cards until then. So now it's 10:05pm and we hear the phone ring. We answer and guess who it is! The person to bring the cake! So this person says that, yeah they'll be staying right where they are for tonight... at 10:05pm... 5 minutes after the person was going to leave. So,

a) We didn't get to hang out with the two people that night which is pretty disappointing.
b) We got a little annoyed by the fact that the person called at 10:05pm!!!
and finally,
c) WE FRIGGIN' DIDN'T GET ANY FRIGGIN' CAKE!!! I'd say that annoyed me the most!

Feelin' lazy and outta shape!

So I've noticed that I haven't been exercising as much as I probably should be lately. Although my posts title says feelin' lazy, it's for a completely different reason. I think... but yeah. I haven't really had much... motivation I guess. I've been going to school and they don't really have any kind of sports team or any kind of facilities that would allow for the exercise. So I'm left with exercising at home. But I don't really do that... I'm not too sure why to be honest. So that's that I guess. However, I've decided to take the initiative and start exercising on a much more regular basis. One reason being is that it is a healthier choice rather than vegging on the couch all the time. And secondly, so that I can continue to play tennis. If I'm too far out of shape my tennis abilities will be decreased. 0_o

The feelin' lazy part of this post... well it's pretty simple. I have work that I should be doing... mostly school work. But I'm feelin' lazy and don't wanna do it. I probably should... I have tests and assignments due very soon. Also I've gotta start driving more often so I can get better then take the test so I can get me drivers licence. All in due time... I guess. ^_^

I wonder what a veggie burger tastes like... does it taste like veggies? If so, which veggies?

ARGH STUPID BRAIN!!!

Ok so I'm sure this must've happened to more people other than just me! But I hate it, just hate it when you go into a test knowing everything! But you write the test knowing NOTHING! The reason? I don't know! Just like today! I had a test in class and I did study! Not just going over the stuff once or twice but actually trying to remember this material and such. When I got into the class I knew what everyone was talking about and knew the answer to many questions that were asked by fellow students. Though I didn't really say anything outloud nor did I actually participate in the conversation. I was sitting at my desk listening to my classmates ask each other questions. But that's beside the point. Anyways I knew the answers and I was feeling quite confident in myself. Then when the test started the first question was a real simple one. My brain decided that it felt like screwing me. I couldn't remember anything... I spent half of the test time trying to remember the answers to simple questions. Ones that I was laughing at the night before!

Not to mention, the fact that I got the strange idea that it would be a good idea to study specific areas that I felt were likely to be on the test. Then many questions that I didn't think were going to be on the test were on the test. *sigh* Guess I'll have to make up for the almost guaranteed low mark on my test today with the next 2 or 3 tests... and the final...

...yay... yeah, no... it's crap...just crap...

Cram School

You know how there's cram school in Japan right? It's a place where students go after school to do more school-like stuff. I think it's like a place where the kids go to study more! I think that's what cram school is... if I'm wrong please let me know so that I can know for future reference. Anyways the reason why I bring this up is because I go to cram school as well. Except it's not really in a building... nor is it everyday. And it isn't after school either. In fact it's on the bus, train and walk towards my school. Also it only happens on the morning before a test. Haha! Pretty much I do most of my studying for tests in my classes the morning of the test! I'm sure it's not a very good idea and I should really stop doing it. I think today will be the last time... hopefully.

The reason why I bring up this is because I hate doing it. Whenever I'm on the bus or the train going to school people give me the strangest looks. I don't know why though. What could they possibly be thinking. I'm pretty sure it's not the first time they'll ever see a student studying for anything on the bus or train. Also I kinda feel like an idiot, because of the fact that I like to use past assignments as studying material because most of the stuff that I need to study is memorization type stuff. So I read the assignments because most of the time, the tests have very similar questions. Moving on, the reason I don't like this is because my teacher likes to put in big letters the mark we get on the front page. So when I'm studying the first page, it almost looks like I'm admiring my own mark or maybe even though of as looking at someone else's assignment.

I have to admit, it kinda bothers me... the looks I get.

Oh and before I forget! The walk to school! It's a DISASTER! Because I'm trying to read the study material.. I sorta don't pay much attention to my surroundings... I still notice the important things like people and motor vehicles. However, what I don't notice is potholes, curbs posts... basically anything that could be considered as an obstacle. So instead of normally avoiding it and getting to school safetly, I run right into the obstacle or fall because there's no ground where I expect there to be ground. It doesn't help that there's construction going on and the like to leave signs and such all over the place and there's many potholes that they repair and make... I'm lucky nothing too serious has happened yet.... So I think I might stop this last minute stuyding on my way to school.

Working

Alright so I've got some sweet news for this post! As most of you already know I'm currently in school. What you may or may not know is that this is a year long program only. So by this April I'll be done with the program and such. Meaning I'll need to go find a job and such so I can start making money and such. However, I won't need to go looking for a job now. The reason, last week I believe, I sent in an application to a company and went in for an interview on Monday. This Thursday I received another call from this same company. Informing me that I've been chosen to be their new employee!!! WOOT this means, I've got a job and will be starting on May 14th! Yay! For more specific details, you guys will have to contact me more directly, either through email, phone or meeting me in the real world, which shouldn't be hard for many of you since you know exactly where I live ^_^.

Time Management???

Alright so I haven't posted for awhile now. This is hopefully going to be short because I need sleep but wanted to do this before I sleep. Anyways, the topic for this post will be time management. I seem to be having troubles managing my time. Normally, I'm pretty good at it but lately... as in the past 2 or 3 weeks, I've been doing a very poor job of managing my time. Now I'm having some problems finding time to do my homework, study and generally do anything productive. I think I need help on this matter so please anyone that reads this. Any ideas on how I can improve my time management skills?

Am I the only one???

So I just realized something.

I LOVE MUSIC!!!

I find that I'm listening to my ipod a lot. But it's just so nice. I really like it when the song that I'm listening to matches the mood that I'm in and the atmosphere... somehow! Just so that you know, I don't listen to that emo crap... well maybe one or two songs that could be kinda considered as emo... but still I think a lot of emo music is crap. No offense to anyone that listens to it. This is simply my opinion.

I'm really glad that they came up with mp3 players. If they didn't, I wouldn't be able to take my music along with me! I really like being able to listen to my iPod on the train and bus. Mostly because on the way to and from school takes about an hour. So I get an hour to simply relax in the seat or stand there but still I get to enjoy my music. Instead of the sounds of traffic, stupid people and I can let my mind wander... but not so much that I miss my stop. ^_^

Although unlike what my dad says, I'm not dependant on the thing... he for some reason thinks that I can't go 10 minutes without being entertained... *sigh*

Oh well the way I see it, it's better to do whatever you can to enjoy the ride to school instead of just sitting there thinking: "I don't want to go to school!" Instead you can think things like: "Whee I really love this song" or "This song is sweet" or anything along those lines. Well I guess you could think: "This song is great! Too bad I'm going to school..." But I prefer to be positive about things! Anyways that's all for today's post!

Wednesday, March 21, 2007

A post of congratulations!

So as you people who have been reading my blog know I'm going to school at the moment. As well as looking for a job for when I'm done with the program! Which will be at the end of April this year. Anyways, this post is simply to congratulate one of my classmates. Though I really doubt that he'll ever see this post! Oh well doesn't matter... Anyways, this week he went to an interview for a job and got a call back saying he's got the job! Isn't that awesome! He told the rest of use students what to expect in an interview and is going to tell us a range for our salary! Which is awesome since we don't know what it'll be... I've heard some pretty high numbers and some pretty low numbers at the same time... I'm hoping that I have some luck and manage to get a job sometime too.

So lets see what else is new... I have started playing poker with a few of my friends. Man I'm such a terrible gambler... Even though the amounts are actually really small when you think about it... it seems like just the idea of losing money is really tough for me. I mean like even though it seems to balance out eventually... I dunno. I guess I'm just not a gambling type of person. Also I get the feeling that I'm super easy to read or something. Maybe I'm just playing the game really stupid like? Whatever, I guess that it's still fun to play poker with my friends... so I guess I don't mind losing the money too much...

However, I'm a very sore loser even though I don't like to show it. I absolutely hate losing... it's just awful. I still try to hide it as much as I can... it's tough sometimes though. Beh... Oh well I guess it builds character or something... Or maybe it's not the fact that I'm a sore loser but actually it's my incredible lack of sleep! Like my sister told me: "When you don't get enough sleep, it will feel like the world exists only to annoy you"... Maybe that's the case with the whole poker thing. I'm not getting enough sleep so I'm more irritable?

Maybe...

Anyways, I think my teacher is headed this way so I should finish up this post.

The reason!!!

Hahaha!!! So I found out why my friends can't comment on my blog! Apparently it had to do with my settings! So it was set so that only bloggers could leave comments. Which is sorta lame no offense to all you bloggers out there that might be reading this! Anyways so now I have fixed that and I hope to get more comments from peoples that I know!!!! WHEEE! But as a little reminder, please don't refer to specific locations as I am trying to keep locations that I'll be and such a secret! And the reason behind that is that it is simply a condition that my parents have for me! They're a little bit overprotective at times but hey it shows they care! Anyways WHEE! I hope to get lots of comments!!!!

Poor timing = disappointed Jon Mah

Ok so here's the deal! There's this huge sporting event that's really important to me and a bunch of my friends. I would like to attend this event. HOWEVER!!! I won't be able to attend because it is this weekend! Guess what else is this weekend. A cousins birthday party! I've been invited and well call me a dork if you want but I should probably attend this as well... I don't want to hurt my little cousins feelings by not showing up but I would prefer to avoid dissapointing my friends by not showing up either. ARGH!!!

So this is all happening this weekend... so that's why the title of this post. As you might be able to tell, I'm not sure... I haven't been to clear on this post... I don't think. I'm very dissapointed. All I can hope for is that one of my friends that is going to the sporting event will read this and take many a pictures and send them to me. If not... well I guess that's my problem...

So I've also noticed that I haven't been posting very often. The reason is because of school. Recently the teachers have been giving me lots of homework to do and tests to study for. So I've been very busy and have found that I have less time to type up a post about pretty much anything. Also I've noticed that I haven't really been sticking with my original plan on what I was going to use this blog for! In case no one remembers, I'm pretty sure I was going to use this blog to try to stay in touch with my friends! But that kinda got lost and now I just post about anything that's on my mind. Anyways... since some of you (my friends) have been telling me that you can't leave comments on my blog... for some reason I'm not really sure why you can't... I'd really like to read some comments from you guys. Just so I know that someone is reading my blog. So if you don't mind just email me a comment instead. It would be much appreciated. Plus you should already know my email address so there's no need for me to post that. Well I really hope to hear from any of you!

RISK!!!!

Okay so the other night I went over to a friends place and a bunch of us played Risk the board game. However, the game can be very long and our choice of timing was... poor. I say this because we started the game around 9:00pm that night and well... it ended around 12:30 am. In addition, it was a Sunday night and I had to go to school the next day at 8:00 am. Also because my course is a little bit aways from where I live, it takes about an hour to get to school so that means I have to get out of the house by 7:00 am. Not to mention in the mornings, it can take me up to an hour to get up and get ready for the day... I have to wake up by 6:00 am. So if you include the time it takes to get the game put away and get out of the house and go home to sleep. I got home about 12:40 something am.

Now you have to include my getting ready for bed and time spent thinking of whether I should try to just stay awake all night and stay awake through class, or go to sleep as soon as possible and get what little sleep I can... I picked go to sleep by the way. Anyways by the time I was in bed it was about 1:00 am.

Not only was I in bed late, I for some reason couldn't actually get to sleep for another hour and a half. So the time that I actually ended up going to bed at was about 2:30 am. So if I wake up at 6:00 am and got to bed at 2:30 am... well... that gives me about 4 and a half hours of sleep...

SO BE WARNED!!!! IF YOU PLAY RISK!!! YOU RISK HAVING A GAME THAT WILL LAST ABOUT 3 HOURS IF YOU PLAY WITH 4 OR MORE PLAYERS!!! ESPECIALLY IF YOU WANT TO PLAY UNTIL THE END!!!!

...I wanna sleep... T-T

Not actually...

So I haven't been posting for awhile now it seems. And some people might think that it's because I'm just too busy... some might think I'm too lazy...

Well you're all wrong!

Actually I just haven't had any ideas as to what I should write! Gah, nothing terribly interesting to talk about... so therefore I've had nothing to really say. So now... umm... yeah...

To all of my friends because this is the reason I made this blog in the first place. I'm doing fine! I've just been going to school coming home, doing my homework and then occasionaly going out with friends! However, nothing terribly interesting... but hey something is bound to happen seeing as how it's been so long since something actually happened! So I look forward to that time! Till something happens or I decide to post anyways!

The end!

Now how many of you people that are reading this think this will be my last post? I have to be honest with you... it's not my last post. Simply a title to my post. There's a reason too, but I'll get to that in just a bit.

Anyways, the reason why this post is called the end, is because it's the end of reading week!!! Which means most of my friends are going back to school in various different towns! I guess I'll get to see them at the end of the school year but still. It sucks either way! Not to mention this means I'll have to get back to the regular schedule of getting up early and going to school. I won't be able to sleep in until whenever I want anymore. *sigh* T-T

On another note, I got to go out to dinner tonight! There was a banquet that I got to go to and we ate delicious foods. I got to see some family, and enjoyed some music and a few performances. However, I also had to endure through some karaoke... ummm... I'm pretty sure I just spelled that wrong but whatever. Please let me know the correct spelling of that word. Anyways, although I can't say that the singing was all bad, some of them were ok!

Sorry for not posting for a while but I guess nothing was inspiring me for awhile... even now, I'm not too inspired at the moment and it's taking a lot of effort to think of something to write about. I guess I'm not that creative! ^_^

So late it's early!

So it's about 2:30 am right now... I kinda just got back from visiting a friends house. We played a game of Monopoly that took a really long time. Eventually... everyone kinda gave up on trying to win and just wanted to finish the game. But it was awesome getting to hang out with my friends that have left for universities away from home....

However, I am rather dissapointed with myself. After taking a look at other peoples pages on this thing called Facebook, I noticed alot of people are saying that they miss school. I assume it's because home just isn't as much fun... I also assume that I'm simply not doing enough to help entertain these people! I mean... for the most part, I've done very little with my friends. This is rather depressing so I've got to try my best to get together with my friends as much as I can to hang out and party it up before they pack up and go back to school.

So if any of you are reading this post on my blog... CALL ME!!! You should have the number or simply email me, or message me on Facebook. Although I don't really like to admit it, I check my page fairly often. So please, let's hang out and make this like vacation at home away from school as much fun as possible!

On another note... ummm... because it's so late in the evening/very early in the morning I have forgotten what I was going to talk about on this little side note. So I'll try talking about something else. Hmmm... well since I am having some problems thinking of something, I'll just say this:

Tennis is lots of fun and if you wanna play, just give me a shout or if you want to do something else again, give me a shout ^_^

Post title disaster!!!!

So I was looking at the number of posts that I've done. The reason being that I'm impressed I've actually been continuously blogging for this long before getting bored and quitting! Anyways, as you may have noticed on the side it tells you how many posts I've made. and I was looking at it thinking wow 14 posts. But wait, it says I only had 13 posts! I went back and counted and it was right! Which means that my posts, Post #13 and Post #14... they're... they....

THEY'RE WRONG!!!!!!!!!

Argh! This is a disaster! So now I have two posts that are wrong and the post #14 was not the 14th post on the 14th of Feb! T-T oh well....

Happy New Year!!! ^_^

Because I don't know how I would type the chinese equivalent for Chinese New Years, I'm going to simply stick with Happy New Years! I hope everyone is well! I also hope everyone enjoys the new year, well those who celebrate it, get your red envelopes and enjoy the time with the family! ^_^ Those of you that don't, well... I hope you enjoy the day and who knows maybe you'll get a red envelope anyways ^_^!

This year is going to be the year of the pig/boar! Whichever you wish to call it! Last year was the year of the Dog for anyone that didn't know! Just felt that it was somewhat important information on the new year!

As for me, I love New Years! Actually I love almost any kind of holiday, truth be told. Mostly because it seems like everyone I know is in a much better mood. Everyone is in high spirits and such, not to mention the time you get to spend with the family. Which is really nice! In addition, if you're like me, you'll get to celebrate the new year pretty much throughout the whole week! Not to mention the sweet banquets you get to go to!

So on another note completely unrelated to the new year, I'm so excited! I finally got to play tennis again! Since my friend is back from his trip, I finally have an opponent willing to play in the kind of weather we've been having... then again I guess I can't just say that I have an opponent now... because technically I've always had an opponent... I guess it was just a lack of motivation ^_^. So that's put me in a very good mood!

Another positive thing that's happening this week! I get to see my friends again!!!! Since they'll be back in town for the week, I hope to see them as much as possible! So if any of you are reading this blog! Give me a call, you know the number and because of certain security measures on this blog, I will not be posting my number on the blog. But since you guys are my friends, you should know my number anyways... if not you always have email ^_^ (another thing I won't be posting on this blog that you guys should have ^^)

Well it's late enough as it is, and I want to wake up early to eat my mom's waffles. I'll be heading to bed now. I'll try to plan some sort of get together... however, I might not... mostly because my plans never work, but that's a possible rant for another post.

Goodnight! And....

!!!HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!

So I have just gotten over a few days of the flu. I'm not too sure why that's terribly interesting to know. However, the interesting thing that happened is that my entire family, excluding my mom, got the same thing! That's what I think is interesting.

So having the flu is awful especially while you have school to go to. Some people may think, "Sweet I don't have to go to school!"... but in all honesty, I would rather go to school than be sick any day. You miss so much when you're sick and you feel awful all day. Whereas at school, even if it's a terrible day at school you don't feel awful all day. Also if you're sick, you can't eat anything delicious. Almost everything you eat tastes bad.

So I've come to the conclusion that you can't really enjoy your day away from school on a sick day. You just suffer from the symptoms of your illness. This is even worse because I have an essay due at the end of the week and was planning on working on it this week... however, got the flu and wasn't able to work on my essay. So now I'm a little bit pressured.

On the plus side, I get to make a post on my feeling much better on the 14th post on my blog on the 14th of february! Which also happens to be valentines day... but I don't really think valentines day really applies to me! ^_^

So to finish this post off for today:

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really have nothing to really talk about today... but felt like posting something so...yeah. >_>

Thinking of the past

So I took a look over my past posts after hearing a supposed fact on the radio. That fact was along the lines of bloggers and their constant complaining. Also that they're sad and lonely. So I took a look at my posts. I feel that alot of them have contained my complaints and basically me whining alot. So hopefully this post will change that!

Alright so today was very nice because I got to leave school exceptionally early. Normally I'd get out around 1:00 pm. But today since I had two tests, and time to work on computer class for the rest of the day. (side note: The computer class is online, and we can only access the program that we need to use on the school computer.) So yesterday I had stayed later, and finished off my assignments for the week. So I had very little to no work that needed to be done today! So I got to take off around 10:30 am! That was sweet!

Another thing that I'd like to celebrate is the fact that I've made over 10 posts on this blog! Hooray for me! Usually I kinda give up on things like this because of either a lack of posts or just plain nothing to talk about so I just don't talk.

Even more good news is I found a quarter on the ground today! ^_^

Lots of good news in this post...right? ^_^

Birthday BASH!

Well here's the deal. I was invited to my friends 18th birthday party. Woo hoo sweet! Right? Well here's the problem, the party is on a thursday... tomorrow, but I have teachers that seem to know when to assign tests to seemingly make my life miserable. So I can't go to this party that is promising to be really awesome!

So now I'm just sitting here going:

"Well this is relatively crappy!"

So I just sent the email to my friend asking for forgiveness. I hope the party goes better than expected. Also in the email invite it noted that if I don't go to this party I will be lame. I guess this makes me lame doesn't it... ARGH! Bah! Bleh! I'll need to make this up to my friend or suffer an eternity of lameness! So since you know who you are, if you're reading this please! Let me know of any way I can make it up! I refuse to accept "it's okay" as an answer!

PS: I rather dislike the class that the test is actually in

Suffering from memory loss!

Ever have something that you were thinking you needed to do walk a few steps and forget what you were about to do? Well I have! In fact it's been happening alot recently. The worst part about this time is the fact that now that I have remembered, I have forgotten to get any work done on an essay that's due on monday!!!

Argh! I might be in a little trouble...

So know it's very late at night..err...morning? However you want to consider it, it's late for me! Anyways so here I am taking a small break writing a post on my blog. While I really should be working really hard to finish my 4 to 5 page essay that's due...err tomorrow. >_<

I may need to stay up all night T-T

PS: I'm really sleepy -_-...

The waiting game!

Alright so as you may already know from a past post, I've been looking for work! And just recently as in a few minutes ago, I sent off my cover letter and resume to a company that I'm trying to get part time work with. Now I wait... *sigh*

Although this is not my first time trying to get work... (as a side note, those were complete failures) it's still really getting to me. Just clicking on the send button to send the emails was awful. I was all nervous! I don't really want to get my hopes up... but for some reason I just can't help it! I'm really nervous about an interview..(although I don't know if I'm even going to get one)

So now I get to wait... Trying to continue on with my day while the little voice in my head keeps asking me:

"Are they going to call me for an interview?"

"Am I going to get a job?"

I wish there was some way to block out that voice... if anyone knows... please let me know. I find listening to that voice is going to drive me insane and I much prefer being sane. *sigh*

It's the small things in life

This post is going to be mostly me complaining about people. But before I even start, I'd like to make sure that it is known that I am not directing these comments at anyone in particular. I also realize that I do many things that are very annoying. So I hope no one takes any offense from this post.

Ok so really this is just me complaining about poor drivers. As most of you may know, I do not have the ability or resources to drive myself from point A to any other point on the map. Therefore I must rely on public transit. Because of this, I have more time to notice things about drivers that I hate. First of all, people that don't actually stop at stop signs. Although, this doesn't really do much to many people, I still find it to be annoying to see people simply drive through a stop sign. IT SAYS STOP! NOT SLOW DOWN A BIT! Another thing I find particularily annoying is when people stop inside the X on the road. The X on the road means don't stop within this space. This is because the turn for other drivers is rather sharp and it's likely that if you are within this space you will be hit. So don't stop there. I notice this the most at the bus station. At one point on the bus trip home, the bus must take a fairly sharp left turn to exit the station. However, it cannot complete that turn most of the time because people are stopped within an X on the ground. Which makes it so the bus driver can't go anywhere whilst the person is sitting in their car thinking:

"AH DON'T HIT ME BUS!" or something along the lines of that.

What really confuses me about this part is the fact that once the driver of the car realizes that he will get hit by the bus unless he does something about it, they do absolutely nothing. They sit there... not moving while people in the bus and the bus driver are trying to tell them to back up. They sit there... Bah!

Well that's enough of that, and I apologize if anyone takes offense!

Tennis Withdraw

I love to play tennis! It's quite possibly my favorite sport to play! Luckily for me there are tennis courts near my house and in the neighborhood I have some friends that like to play tennis as well. This is especially good since they enjoy playing the game despite almost any weather! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to play tennis lately T-T

On the plus side, soon I will be able to play again! Unless the weather decides that it's going to suck and then I won't be able to play. It's pretty tough to play when there's lots of snow on the ground or trying to play in a blizzard. Also my friend will be getting back soon so I'll have another opponent to play against! Hooray!

Till then my tennis stick remains locked away in my basement T-T

Work work work...

Lately I've been told that I need to get my act together. This act to which I'm getting together has to do with getting employment for when I'm done school with the possibility of working part-time while I'm still in school. But I've somehow managed to continuously delay these plans. I'm not sure why I keep pushing it back... it isn't actually all that much work. Just so you know I'll put a list of the things I need to do somewhere in this post ^_^

Anyways this got me thinking that the time that we have when we're a carefree child was the best time we've probably ever had. We got to be all carefree! People around you took care of you and you never had to do all that much work. It was nice. Don't get me wrong, I still think that it's pretty cool to have all these freedoms that we didn't have as kids but still...

Alright so I said that I was going to include a list, so here it is:

1. Update resume
2. Contact my contacts in the industry I'm trying to find work in
3. Figure out which companies I'd like to work for
4. Write up cover letters
5. Send those cover letters with resumes

After that I guess I'll just hope for an interview with a company that I sent my application to. Then hopefully I'll get to go to an intervue and hopefully it will go well and I'll find myself either working part-time or have a job lined up for when I'm out of school!

Hooray! I've had this blog for maybe 3 or 4 days and I have 2 comments! I really like reading comments from people because it gives me the idea that people are reading my blog, and it somewhat allows me to hear from people! Thanks for posting!

Also because I don't think I'm ever going to post more than once a day. I almost forgot to mention this but... IT RAINED!!!! IN JANUARY!!!! For those of you that have lived here where I live which I'm not allowed to say... Rain in January is very rare.... in fact I think this is the first time I've seen this happen! My class could hardly believe it so I went outside to find out. And I was right! It was rain! I generally really like the rain so it's a very nice break from the typical January weather.

Update!

Alright so some of the people that I know have been asking me:

"What have you been up to?"

and

"How have you been?"

So I decided to make this blog! It's going to be random rantings that I feel like posting and updates for you people to know how I'm doing and what I'm up to. Sorry though I won't be giving terribly specific information because the last thing I need is some random person looking me up! So sorry that it's going to be lacking some details of my life. But for those of you who I know and already have most of that important information it won't really make too much of a difference!

Alright so here's whats up with me!

I'm still in school and I'm having an excellent time! I got to see a bunch of people when they came back from school in other towns and had alot of fun hanging out with them. Hmm... what else... I haven't been getting out too much lately for reasons that I don't even know. I think it's because no one is around, and I don't like going out alone ^_^.

That's about all for now I'll be sure to update you on my life a more often. Hope everyone is having a great time doing whatever they're doing!

One Small Step

So... as you may already know from reading my first post, this whole blogging thing, completely new to me. So while talking to my sister who also has a blog, I asked: "So what exactly do you put in your blog and what should I put in mine?" Her response was that I simply put whatever I want in these posts. That... sorta helps...

I then decided that I would take a look at her blog to see if it would... inspire me. It didn't... But, I did see some things on her blog that I would like to see on my blog. So sometime in the near future she's going to help me with this.

If any of you people have any kind of recomendations on what I could do to make my blog a little more interesting I'd be glad to hear it!

I guess that's all for today. Hope you are all feeling fine you people reading my blog ^_^

First post on my first blog!

Well this is my first post in this new blog of mine! Actually, it's the first blog I've ever had! Isn't that exciting? Currently I'm in my computers class... but I finished my work so I really have nothing to do. So I decided to make a blog! Everyone in my class is being pretty quiet at the moment so you just hear lots of typing and clicking. I plan to post many random things on this blog, mostly my thoughts on things that I see during the days!

- Jon Mah ^_^
